This page is for Luke M. to upload photos or write notes about his new adventures in Florida. Please feel free to post notes for him or just say Hi.

Hey guys, we got to "Jax" on Tuesday, slept in a hotel that night, and the next day our movers came. Not very interesting, I know. But I did go to a carnival with my friend Grant. And, I already stepped in a fire ant pile barefooted while teaching Max how to ride a bike! Trust me, you do not want to see my feet! We have now learned the most important lesson of Florida: always wear shoes, and bring a ton of anti-itch spray/cream! I start school on Monday. My mom starts at her church a week from this Sunday. I know she'll do great. It's her great preaching that's the reason we moved. Although I miss you guys a ton, I know that it's not about me, it's about my mom, and her spreading God's word. See ya'll (that's what us southerners say down here) Luke
Luke, It is awesome to hear from you. We do want to see your feet and what a fire ant hill looks like. Take some pictures and upload them (small files please:) How was your first day of school? We all want to hear about it. Write soon. Hugs, Mrs. T.
Hey, my dad is going to take some pictures during the day of the fire ant pile. My feet aren't as bad as they used to be (thank goodness), but bad enough for you to see what it's like. You guys are lucky you don't have those things up there! You might want to hear something interesting about my new school. Fifth and Sixth grade are still counted as Lower school, but the fifth graders rotate classes. For instance, on Tuesday we have Reading, Writing/Grammar, Math, Social Studies, Lunch, Computer, and then P.E. No recess all day. I guess the rotating classes is hard enough to keep up with. My homeroom teacher's name is Mr. Halloran. I still miss having basically one teacher, (especially Mrs. T.) but I'm getting used to it here. My mom had her first day at the cathedral yesterday. I hope she liked it. See ya (I haven't lost my Kansas accent yet) Luke
Hey, sorry I wasn't in the good-bye video. I just wanted to say, you were a good friend, it was fun hanging out with you. We all miss you! Please send back soon - Thoren

Hey, guys
How are things going in Wichita? My mom just had her first two Sundays her in Jax. She did awesome!! Some of our friends at our church gave us tickets to go the the Florida Vs. Vanderbilt game! It was awesome seeing my favorite player in the world, Tim Tebow, play in person. My dad graduated from Vanderbilt though! But he said he was pulling for the Gators (I think he knew from previous experience in years past that Vandy wasn't the best football team in the world). But he dressed in UF stuff, and cheered for the Gators, so that was good. It was one of the best times I'd ever had. The other time was at a Memphis Tigers Basketball game... but that's off subject. A friend from Wichita is coming here for Thanksgiving, during which I hope you guys have a ton of fun! I am posting a picture of me at the game. I'm surviving school here, but a lot of times I really miss TIS.

Bye!
Luke
P.S. Go Gators!!

Luke, this is an awesome photo and you look like you were having a great time. Tell us about your school. How many kids are in your class? Do they have anything like Trubyville there? We want to know. Many hugs, Mrs. T.

Hi guys,
I hope things are going well. You guys said you wanted to know how many kids are in my class. There are three classes of fifteen. They don't really have anything like Trubyville there. They say they have a "blog" but all they do is put that nights homework on it. So there's nothing like trubyville there. I just shadowed at Episcopal High School. It was great! A lot better than my current school. I had to shadow sixth graders (the school starts in sixth), but I was okay. I will go there next year. My football coach is the Social Studies teacher there. Social studies is my favorite subject, so that's pretty good. You might want to know my two best friends names. One's name is Speakman (pretty cool name if you ask me), and Grant. Grant lives down the street, and Speakman helps me out a ton at my school. I think the "pain" of moving is washing away a bit. We still REALLY miss Wichita, but it's calming down here.

See ya! (online, that is)
Luke

Hey Guys,
I've been waiting for you to post stuff. I've been really busy with . . . well, everything. I'm at my grandma's for one night, and then I'm going home.
My family is already there.
School is getting better. I've gotten past the "Let's fit Luke in a box, is he a nerd, a jock, a freak...?" etc. I figured to leave those things alone.
Now that I've "earned my rep," I can enjoy school as much as possible.
We were playing Bombardment (Dodge ball) the other day, and I hit a kid so hard in the stomach he sort of lost his feet and landed face down on the unwelcoming gym floor. It hurts a bit more with real balls... but it is FUN!!! It makes the game more effective!!!
I took the ISEE to get into EHS. I passed! For some reason I got up in the high eightieth or low ninetieth percentile in MATH! That was the subject I did the best in. And it is NOT one of my best subjects.
The funny thing is, instead of the ISEE, they gave my the SAT!!! . . . Just Kidding!
I'm trying to stand up for a kid who, like me, is new this year. He is getting REALLY BADLY made fun of. Sometimes its hard to do it. Sometimes I don't know how. Sometimes I feel like I can't stop everyone.
Example:
I'm running to get my tie outside, being followed by the kid who gets bullied.
We walk out there and see to other boys.
"Hey let's tackle _!" Bully #1 says
Bully #1 fakes to run at the victim. Victim backs away.
Bully #1: "Is the Little bitty boy scared?" he mocks?
Me: "Just Be quiet,
_!"
Bully #2 ignores me and tries to tackle the victim. He fails. This time, he picks him up, lifts up his legs, and drops him on the ground. The victim ALMOST hits his head on the soccer goal.
The bullies run off laughing.
"You know, ___, I think you're the one scared!" I say.

You see what I mean? I knew I should have done more than just yell at the kid, but whenever I stand up for myself or others physically, I end up being the one getting in trouble because the bully turns me into the bully. Please post any help tips.

See Ya!!!
Luke
Go to our bully page, Luke. Maybe that will help- Riley
